Curriculum

We are proud to offer a wide range of A Level subjects for our students. At SMSJ we want to ensure that all our students succeed in their courses.

The majority of students will study three A levels. Some students may wish to study four A levels and this will be considered on an individual basis.  

Please note that courses may not run due to insufficient numbers or staffing. We encourage all students to add a reserve option when completing their application 

In order to progress to the Sixth Form at SMSJ, students must achieve the following grades at GCSE: 

• Grade 5 or above in Mathematics 
• Grade 5 or above in English Literature.   
• Student must also achieve an average point score of at least 5.5 in their subjects 

Additionally, students must meet the GCSE entry requirements for the particular A level subjects they would like to study from the list below:
