At SMSJ, we are extremely fortunate to have a full time Careers and Aspirations Manager who guides and supports each of our students on their individual journey to life after Sixth Form.
How we support our students applying to Higher Education:
- 1:1 meeting with our Careers and Aspirations Manager
- Continuing bespoke support across the two years in applying to university of choice
- Fortnightly bulletin with super-curricular, Higher Education and Careers opportunities
- An Oxbridge and Medics programme for students interested in applying to competitive universities/applying for competitive courses
- An annual visit to the UCAS Higher Education Exhibition
- Guest speakers from universities
- Guest speakers and activities from our Oxford and Cambridge link colleges
- Mock Oxbridge interviews with Oxbridge Alumni
- Guest lectures from industry professionals
- Student Finance talks and presentations for students and parents
- Supporting students in applying for Sutton Trust summer schemes and academic mentoring projects
- Higher Education careers fairs
- Information and guidance regarding gap years and volunteering opportunities

We support our students by providing the following opportunities:
