Year 9 GCSE Options Process 2024
The GCSE Options process is an exciting time for students and their parents and carers to turn to the next stage in their educational journey; considering which subjects they would like to study for the next two years. Please see below an outline of the GCSE Options Process.
Week Commencing 22nd January – Year 9 Options Subject Assemblies
This week, students will start to have a series of subject assemblies in which Heads of Department will inform students about GCSE courses in their subject areas; including curriculum content and methods of assessment.
Tuesday 30th January – Careers Advice Sessions, periods 5-6
Following the Options Subject Assemblies, students will be off-timetable to spend some time with their PAM, examining in greater depth their subject choices and future destinations.
Thursday 1st February – Year 9 Parents’ and Carers’ Consultation Evening
4.30pm to 7.30pm, online
Parents’ and Carers’ Consultation Evening will provide an opportunity to discuss your child's learning and progress based on their recent Autumn Term report and current performance. This will help to inform your decisions when making GCSE choices.
Friday 23rd February – Deadline for Options Forms
An e-mail will be sent during the week commencing Monday 5th February which will contain a link to submit GCSE options and the deadline for completion will be Friday 23rd February.
